Hi, I'm Jonathan Bird. I was born in Phoenix, Arizona and graduated from Creighton University.
Before starting Farnam Financial, I previously worked for Charles Schwab & Co. and managed over $250 million in client assets for 205 high-net-worth families.
With nine years of financial services experience, I hold both the Certified Financial Planner™ and Certified Wealth Strategist™ professional designations.
I'm also the author of the Amazon #1 Best-selling book, Income on Demand – Master Your Retirement Portfolio, Ignore the Market, and Leave the IRS Weeping.
Outside of work, I enjoy running a Junto group inspired by Benjamin Franklin’s autobiography. I also enjoy reading, golf, and pickleball.

About our Firm
Other financial advisors try to outperform the stock market. Standard & Poor’s found that over the past twenty years, about 94% of professional managers that tried to outperform the stock market failed. We avoid that.
What Makes Farnam Financial Different:
We invest in a way that allows you to keep more of your profits and principal. We utilize a powerful retirement income strategy designed to save you in taxes over the traditional dividend strategy. We also provide an educational program that helps ensure your peace of mind through any market downturn. That simplified approach allows us to turn your financial house into a financial castle.
✅ Specializing in Retirement: Farnam Financial’s expertise and resources are built specifically to serve retirees. We help with your overall finances, including the portfolio. We also add value on 13 Wealth Management topics that are critical for families to achieve long-term success.
✅Focusing on Your Results: We are Certified Financial Planners that care exclusively about your results. We go to great lengths to avoid conflicts of interest – specifically by never selling products or taking commissions. Our fiduciary approach focuses on what’s best for you at all times and keeps more money in your pocket, not ours.
✅ Sticking to Our Values: Integrity, reliability, and respect are our three core values. We’re always honest and forthcoming. We say what we’ll do, and we’ll do what we said. We also treat you the way we’d want to be treated if our positions were reversed.
✅ Support & Education: We believe it’s important to make things simple and clear for you. We’ll keep you informed and promise to be available for you when you need us.
To make Wealthtender free for readers, we earn a nominal monthly fee from financial advisors and firms in exchange for marketing services (including being featured on this profile page), subject to terms of use. This compensation creates a natural conflict of interest when we favor their promotion over others. Wealthtender is not a client of these advisors or firms. Testimonials may not be representative of other clients’ experiences and do not guarantee future performance or success.
Wealthtender exists to help people discover the most trusted and authentic financial advisors and educators in the finance community.
Your honest reviews help people decide which financial professionals, personal finance blogs and podcasts may be best suited to their individual needs.
The majority of people trust reviews as much as personal recommendations, so what you write in your review should reflect your own opinion and experience.
Be descriptive. Instead of just saying what you like or dislike, share why. What have you enjoyed most or least about your experience with the provider? Have they helped you overcome a difficult financial challenge or strengthened your knowledge about particular money matters? The more details, the better!
Be honest. Your rating and review should reflect your actual experience.
Stay relevant. Help ensure your review is useful to others by avoiding off-topic discussions or personal opinions not relevant to your direct experience.
Be objective. Try to highlight both positives and negatives in your review, even if your experience skews heavily in one direction.
Make your review easy to read. Reviews should be readable for others. Use proper grammar, avoid excessive capitalization or punctuation, and be sure to check your spelling.
Be yourself. Don’t post as, or pretend to be, someone else, and do not say you’re associated with a person or organization with which you are not.
Be nice. Don’t write abusive, hateful, threatening, or harrassing content. Avoid personal threats, hate speech, obscentities, or inflammatory language.
Respect the privacy of others. Don’t post information that can be used to identity another individual or compromise their privacy.
Report abuse. Thank you for helping us ensure reviews on Wealthtender are useful to everyone. If you suspect possible violations of our guidelines or believe a review is inappropriate, please email support@wealthtender.com with a link to the review in question and reason you believe it violates our guidelines.
